Introduction diep~haven is coordinated by the association Cybèle which, since 2005, has been promoting contemporary art, visual arts and beyond, in the Dieppe region. From 2014, the association developed the event between Dieppe and Newhaven. This collaboration was an obvious choice because of the historical relationship between these two towns maintained in particular thanks to the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry line.

Diep~haven is now a cross-Channel festival of contemporary art that takes place every year in East Sussex and Normandy. Each year we present a programme of exhibitions, events and collaborative projects, all structured around a single theme. Diep~haven works with a wide variety of partners to bring these activities to the region. These include cultural institutions, local administration, private companies and associations.

Each year, the festival is supported by the Normandy Region, the Seine-Maritime Department, the City of Dieppe, the DRAC but also by the community of communes Terroir de Caux and by the partner places, such as: D.S.N., the Castle of Bosmelet and the Relais, etc.

The artistic direction of the festival diep~haven has been realized until 2020 by two artists: Alice Schÿler-Mallet and Philippe Terrier-Hermann, also founders of the Festival.
From 2021, the artistic direction will be entrusted to Aliocha Imhoff & Kantuta Quirós, both curators and art theorists. Their mission will be to create a new dynamic and expand the festival’s audience.
